NULGE INAUGURATE NEW OFFICIAL IN TARABA STATE
Newly elected officials of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Taraba state chapter have been inaugurated.
The inauguration ceremony which took place at the NULGE state Secretariat in Jalingo had in attendance top government functionaries.
Speaking during the inauguration the Head of Taraba state civil service Paul Maigida Tino charged civil servants in the state to be punctual in places of work to move the state forward.
He assured the NULGE of his corporation to enable the union to succeed in its effort to move the union forward.
In his acceptance, speech the state president of NULGE, Baji Wakili Damuga said he would engage with government and all other relevant stakeholders to have a common ground in the quest for a harmonious working relationship.
He assured that the Union under his leadership will ensure that basic rights of workers such as regular payment of salaries, promotion to deserving staff, training’and retraining as well as smooth career progression are given due attention by the government so as to enhance productivity and job satisfaction.
The state NULGE president commended the government of Taraba State under the leadership of Governor, Agbu Kefas for prompt payment of staff salaries and monthly pensions to retirees in the State and Local Government services and added that Governor Agbu Kefas is also on sound footings and right path to develop the State in all ramifications.
Baji Wakili Damuga mentioned education, agriculture, security, infrastructure, grassroots development and human development are given due attention by the Governor.
He urged Local Government Workers in the State to imbibe the virtues that stimulate efficient service delivery in their places of work by being punctual, disciplined, creative, and demonstrate respect to the constituted authorities.
Earlier in his remarks, the out going state president of NULGE, Yakubu Tanko thanked members of the State Executive Council and entire Local Government Workers for the support and cooperation given to him and charged them to extend same to the new officials.
