THE FEDERAL MINISTRY OF EDUCATION HAS EXTENDED ITS OUTREACH EFFORTS TO TARABA STATE
Dr. Augustina Godwin, the Commissioner of Education, welcomed a delegation from the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja. The purpose of their visit was to raise awareness and promote student enrollment in unity colleges within the state.
Leading the delegation was Mr. Abati Oludare, an Assistant Director Examinations at the Federal Ministry of Education. Together with NECO officials and Heads of Unity Colleges in Taraba State, they aimed to boost enrollment for National Common Entrance Examinations (NCEE) and Gifted Examinations into Federal Unity Colleges. It was noted that Taraba State currently has the lowest enrollment figures, potentially influenced by existing free education policies.
During the session, Mr. Oludare conveyed a goodwill message from the Honorable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman. He commended the efforts of His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, in improving the educational sector. Mr. Oludare also highlighted the support provided to Taraba students in public secondary schools, such as covering the fees for WAEC, NECO, and NABTEB registrations.
In response, Dr. Augustina expressed gratitude for the sensitization session and pledged to collaborate with her team to address ways to enhance Taraba children’s enrollment in unity colleges. She reaffirmed Dr. Kefas’ dedication to transforming the education landscape in Taraba, aiming to bring joy to both parents and children alike.
Among those present were the Permanent Secretary, Idris A. Goje, the Ministry’s Secretary, various Directors, and NECO state officials.
