Receiving the new leadership in her office, the commissioner expressed her heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for his support towards the persons living with disabilities through the ministry.
She praised the governor for the successful conduct of the election by providing an enabling environment for a free, fair, and credible election that saw the emergence of new executives.
“I most sincerely on behalf of the ministry and the community of persons living with disabilities extend our profound gratitude to His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas for the support and logistics provided for a free, fair, and credible election ever held in the history of JONAPWD Taraba State. She said.
The gesture shown by His Excellency should be reciprocated in obeying the laws and orders she charged the new executive.
Admonishing the new Exectives, the commissioner stressed the need for a comprehensive database for all the clusters in the community of persons living with disabilities for ease of identification and distribution.
She urged the executives to discharge their duties with the utmost sense of responsibility without tribal or religious sentiment.
The permanent secretary Mrs. Gladys Babajide, on her part, advised the newly elected executives to learn from past experiences and carry every member of the association along in all her activities as this will foster unity amongst its members.
She warned that the ministry would not tolerate any act of indiscipline and insubordination from its erring members but admonished them to be of good conduct to both the government and the leadership.
Equally, she praised His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for his support towards the persons living with disabilities and ministry, recalling how some persons from the blind cluster were recently sponsored to Farmcraft Lagos to acquire skills, a gesture both the permanent secretary and the commissioner said is the first of its kind in the ministry.
In his remark, the chairman of JONAPWD Comrade Ali Matudi Tenrika, on behalf of his executives, expressed gratitude to His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas for the enabling environment and all his support towards the community of persons living with disabilities, promising that he will assiduously work to justify the trust repose on him.
He equally thanked the commissioner and the staff of the ministry who painstakingly conducted a free, fair, and credible election that saw their emergence.
“Dr Agbu Kefas has demonstrated compassion and empathy towards the community of the persons living with disabilities in the state, and we plead our unalloyed loyalty and support to his government, he said.
We shall contribute our quota to the peace, development, and progress of our dear state because there is ability in our disability and we are calling on the government for maximum support.
Comrade Matudi added that his doors are always open for advice both from the Ministry and other well-meaning Tarabans.
Comrade Matudi expressed gratitude for the cash token received from the Ministry as a takeoff grant, saying indeed both the commissioner and the permanent secretary have demonstrated love as mothers who care for their wards
