Gov Kefas mourns Doma’s demise and condoles with NUJ.
Taraba state governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, has condoled with the Nigerian Union of Journalists over the demise of Mr. Jerry Ali Doma. He described the death as a loss for Mr Doma’s family, the journalism community, and the state as a whole.
Doma, until his death, was a veteran government house photographer who started his craft in the defunct Gongola state.
Describing the late Doma as a jovial but passionate worker who believed in the dignity of labor, Dr. Kefas said the ace photographer would be remembered for his dedication to details and his penchant for professionalism.
He added that Doma was a model for a principled lifestyle and commitment to duty. Dr Kefas urged the younger generation to emulate the sterling virtues of the late Doma.
Relatedly, Kefas said the welfare of journalists in the state remains one of his cardinal focus. He stated that a vibrant and free press is indeed a cardinal pillar of democracy.
Meanwhile, on journalists’ welfare, the governor assures practitioners of his administration’s commitment to better working conditions and enabling tools.
Mr Jerry Doma, who hailed from Wukari, passed on recently after a protracted illness at the age of 69
