Police arrest 24 suspected social miscreants, dealers of cannabis sativa, foil an abduction attempt in Katsina.
No fewer than 24 suspected social miscreants called ‘Kaurayes’, terrorising the Katsina metropolis, have been arrested by the police in the state.
In a statement by the spokesman of the police, Assistant Superintendent, ASP Abubakar-Sadiq Aliyu, said the suspects were arrested when the police raided flashpoints in Yan Taba, Sabuwar Ungula, Tudun Yan Lihidda, and Jan Bango Quarters.
He added that the suspects are between the ages of 16 and 30.
In the course of the investigation, a large cache of dangerous weapons, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and spirit solution, among others, were also recovered from the suspects.
Aliyu also said men of the command foiled an abduction attempt in the Matazu Local Government Area of the state.
